They fought for our freedom and deserve our thanks daily. This veteran's day lets show them how much they mean to us! Operation Gratitude collects and distributes letters to veterans, as well as deployed troops, new recruits, and first responders. They even have a guide to letter writing to help you and your family get going this Nov. 11th.


Grand opening of the Veterans History Museum

Below you'll find local ways to celebrate as well as meal deals for veterans Formerly known as America’s Military and 1st Responders Museum, the Collier County museum opens with a new name and location. The free museum showcases hundreds of artifacts tied to 250 years of America's wars, including letters, drawings, weapons, uniforms, medals and an original Betsy Ross American flag. Grand opening starts at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, on Veterans Day. Free admission. The event includes a ribbon cutting, speeches and veteran-led tours. Collier County Veterans Day ceremony

The annual event includes a wreath-laying ceremony, a civilian patriot awards ceremony, music by a Naples Concert Band brass quintet, a welcome by Naples Mayor Teresa Heitmann, an address by Rev. Tommy Burns of New Hope Ministries, singers Steve Smith and Rev. Sheila Zellers, and keynote speaker and veteran Kris Anne Hall. Island Veterans Day ceremony

The annual event is organized by American Legion Post 404. It features patriotic music, aircraft flyovers, a flag ceremony and several speakers. Bring your own lawn chair. 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11. Near the bandshell at Veterans Community Park, 901 Park Ave., Marco Island. 642-0575


Bonita Veterans Day Ceremony

The City of Bonita Springs holds its annual Veterans Day event, including musical tributes, the Aisle of Flags, a 21-gun salute, the posting of colors and the day's guest speaker, retired Col. Martin Spann of the U.S. Army and Marines, whose many military awards include a Purple Heart and three Bronze Stars. Organized by the City of Bonita Springs and the city’s Veterans Advisory Committee. 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11. Free. BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse will be celebrating the country's veterans and active-duty members with a free chocolate chunk pizookie with no minimum food purchase. Current and former military will also receive a free appetizer coupon that can be used between Nov. 12 and Dec. 31, 2025.

California Pizza Kitchen is honoring veterans and active-duty military with a complimentary meal from a prix fixe menu on Nov. 11. They will also receive a complimentary beverage.

Military members are asked to come in uniform or to bring their military ID or other proof of service.

Chili's is offering veterans and active military members a free meal for in-restaurant dining only from a select menu on Nov. 11. Beverages and gratuity are not included.

Chipotle is honoring Veterans Day with a special offer for the military community. From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. local time on Veterans Day, veterans and active-duty service members with a valid military ID can receive a free entrée with the purchase of another entrée.

Guests can also support the United Service Organizations (USO) by rounding up their total to the nearest dollar through the “Round Up for Real Change” feature on the Chipotle app or Chipotle.com from Tuesday, Nov. 11 through Sunday, Nov. 16.

Veterans and active-duty service members can visit their local Cracker Barrel location to receive a complimentary Sunrise Pancake Special. The deal is available for dine-in guests nationwide.

On November 11, Dave & Buster’s is offering veterans and active military a free entree up to $20 and a $10 Power Card. Additionally, they can receive 15% off all food and beverage purchases every day, all year round! 

Veterans can enjoy a free "Build your Own Grand Slam" from 5 a.m. to noon with a valid military ID or DD 214. This is only available at participating locations, so make sure to call ahead.

Einstein Bros. Bagels Einstein Bros. Bagels and Bruegger's Bagels are continuing their annual Veterans Day tradition by offering a free hot or iced coffee of any size to all veterans and active-duty service members on Tuesday, November 11.

Guests can claim their complimentary coffee in-bakery, through the mobile app, or online with the code FREECOFFEE, no purchase necessary.

Firehouse Subs is saluting service members this Veterans Day. Veterans and active-duty military can enjoy a free sub of equal or lesser value when they purchase any size sub and show a valid military ID. The offer is valid in-store only, with a limit of one per customer.

The restaurant buffet is showing its appreciation for the men and women in uniform with its annual Military Appreciation Night on Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, from 4 p.m. to close. Active members and veterans will receive a free “thank you” buffet and beverage.

On Nov. 11, all veterans who present a military ID or proof of service and purchase a beverage at any participating Hooters location nationwide will receive a free entrée from the Hooters Veterans Day Menu (available for dine-in only). The Hooters Veterans Day Menu includes five of Hooters’ most popular entrées including: Buffalo Chicken Salad, Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, Hooters Burger, and 10-Piece Boneless Wings.

Veterans and active-duty military can get a free Red, White & Blueberry pancake combo from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 11. Available for dine-in only. 1 per person.

From Nov. 8 through Nov. 11, Kona Grill is offering 50% off food for all veterans and active-duty military. Dine-in only with military ID or proof of service.

Current military personnel and veterans can receive a free lunch combo, which features four slices of Little Caesars' popular Detroit-style Deep Dish pizza, paired with a 20-ounce Pepsi product, at participating locations between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. 

"Freedom Isn't Free." Veterans will receive a free sandwich on Veterans Day.

Outback Steakhouse is celebrating both the U.S. Marine Corps Birthday on Monday, Nov. 10, and Veterans Day on Tuesday, Nov. 11, by offering veterans and active-duty military a free Aussie 3-Course Meal. The offer is valid for select entrées and dine-in only with a valid military ID.

Active or nonactive military, fire, police, EMTs, and their spouses can get 10% off their entire purchase on Nov. 11 when they mention the Hero Discount Program at the register. Valid ID is required to redeem.

All veterans and active-duty military members will receive a free Red's Big Tavern Burger and bottomless steak fries on Nov. 11. The one-time offer is valid for dine-in only.


On Tuesday, Nov. 11, Starbucks will be offering a free “tall” (12-oz) hot or iced brewed coffee to active military service members, veterans and military spouses. Just mention your military affiliation when placing your order.

The offer is valid on café and drive-thru orders only. Limit one per customer.
